Announcement: Application for Housing Loan for Low Cost Plus Housing in Sarawak

On 1st July 2009, SHEDA Secretariat received a notification letter from the Housing Loan Division (BPP) of the Federal Treasury Ministry regarding the ceiling price of RM80,000 (intermediate unit) and RM100,000 (corner unit) for a unit of low cost plus house set by the Sarawak government and that the sale and purchase agreement must reflect the same price.

BPP also noted that some sale and purchase agreements for low cost plus houses in Sarawak exceeded the ceiling price with the inclusion of renovation works.

To ensure that applications comply with the ceiling price set by the government, all applications from Sarawak must attach the followings: 

a. The approval for application for variation of title conditions (AVTC) and sub-divisions of land from the approving authority.

b. Confirmation from lawyer that the house price in the sale agreement does not exceed the government approved ceiling price.
