| ARTICLE
5 - Powers
The Association shall have the power to:
- Organise activities or programmes for the benefit of members;
- Consult with, coordinate and assist persons or organisations engaged in carrying out activities similar to activities of the Association;
- Carry on activities whether on its own or in association with the Government, any public or local authority, any corporation, any company, body or persons which may be beneficial to members of the Association or for the furtherance of any of or all the objectives of the Association;
- Receive moneys for the purposes of the advancement or promotion of the objectives of the Association;
- Receive gifts, donations, legacies, and subscriptions from the Government, other Associations, firms, Corporations or individuals who are desirous of promoting any or all of the objectives of the Association;
- Donate, utilise or expend its funds for the purposes of the Association in accordance with and subject to any regulations or procedures governing such use of funds or as may be directed by the members at a General Meeting from time to time;
- Invest and utilise any excess funds of the Association in accordance with and subject to any regulations or procedures governing such use of funds or as may be directed by members at a General Meeting from time to time;
- Accept from Government, purchase, take on lease or in exchange or otherwise occupy or acquire any land or buildings which may be requisite for the purposes of or conveniently used in connection with any of the objectives of the Association and to lease, sell, charge give in exchange or dispose off the same or any part thereof;
- Enter into contract and may acquire, purchase, take hold and enjoy movable and immovable property of every description, and subject to any written law affecting the same may convey, assign, surrender and yield up, charge, mortgage, demise, reassign, transfer or other wise dispose off, or deal with, any movable or immovable property or any interest therein vested in the Association upon such terms as the Association deems fit;
- Invest any property belonging to the Association in such manner as the Association deems fit whether alone or in association with others;
- Develop any immovable property owned by the Association, suitable for the purposes of the Association;
- Develop and assist in the development of any scheme or project for the purpose of raising funds in furtherance of the objectives of the Association;
- Incorporate companies or cooperatives for the purpose of managing funds and properties of the Association or for any purpose related to any or all of the objectives of the Association;
- Employ any person, agent, bodies or persons for the purpose of managing its properties whether movable or immovable, or for the maintenance thereof;
- Enter into any contract with suppliers, or contractors, for the supply, construction, repairs, maintenance or development of facilities or amenities of the Association;
- Construct buildings, and other facilities and to furnish and maintain the same and to permit the same and other properties of the Association to be used by members and such other persons as may be authorised by the Association either gratuitously or for payment;
- Provide, maintain, manage, administer, equip and furnish any building owned by the Association used for administration or offices or as place of business:
- Purchase, hire, provide and maintain all kinds of equipment, furniture, tools and all other things required or which may be conveniently used in connection with the Association, grounds and other premises of the Association by members;
- Publish, print, and circulate newsletter of the Association for the purpose of dissemination of information to members with the approval of the authority concerned.
- Arrange or caused to be arranged dialogues, discussions, seminars, workshops or conferences on matters which would be beneficial to members.
