| ARTICLE
3 - Interpretations
In this Constitution unless otherwise provided for or unless there be something in the subject or the context inconsistent therewith:
- “The Association” means the Persatuan Pemaju Perumahan Dan Harta Tanah Sarawak or the Sarawak Housing And Real Estate Developers' Association;
- “The Council” means the main Council of the Association for the time being elected under Article 17(1) and shall include the Assistant Secretary-General and Assistant Treasurer-General appointed under Article 17(4);
- "The President" means the President of the Association, and similarly any reference to the Secretary-General, Treasurer-General and other office bearers shall unless otherwise indicated mean the office bearers of the Association;
- "Company" means any company incorporated, formed or registered under the Companies Act 1965 and shall include any partnership formed under the Business Names Ordinance (Cap 64) , and any body corporate incorporated under any Malaysian Law;
- "The Constitution" means the Constitution of the Association, and any reference to "Articles" shall mean the Articles of the Constitution;
- "Division" means the administrative Division of the State of Sarawak ;
- "Liaison Committee" means the Committee formed at the various Divisions of Sarawak for the purpose of coordinating activities of members at the Divisional level;
- "Member" means a Company duly admitted as a member of the Association and where the context so permits shall mean a duly appointed representative of the Company;
- "Sub-committee" means any subsidiary committee formed by the main Council and charged with specific duties;
- "Regulations" means existing regulations and any regulations made under any Article in the Constitution and any amendments thereof for the time being in force;
- Words in the singular shall include the plural and vice-versa and words importing the masculine gender shall include (where appropriate) the feminine gender.
